Few photos after many hours of stripping off paint
A few views after some of the initial stripping, removing the bright yellow paint with chemical paint remover. This work revealed that the loco had been painted green 3 times, Rustons own shade, GWR Middle Chrome Green & BR Loco Green, but no trace of rumoured light green shade of the 1970's or the notorious 'Brunswick Green'!
PWM 651 before
Here is PWM at Aviemore Shed (60 B). The loco is used most days as shed pilot. She arrived in 2008, but we have been so busy with other projects such as 828, 46512, various coaches and the Class 117 DMU. The yellow livery only looked good during autumn when tree leaves were a matching shade.
